Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, technically adept, and flexible Ad Operations Specialist to support our direct ad deals. In this role, you will execute direct ads using Google Ad Manager (GAM), and work directly with buyers’ technical teams. You will be integral in setting up ad operations to maximize our ad performance and optimize ad delivery.

This is a remote contract role (no benefits included) with flexible working hours.

You Will...

  • Execute direct ad campaigns through Google Ad Manager, including:
    • Determining how best to execute various direct ad formats
    • Building templates for direct ad formats (e.g., app install ads)
    • Monitor direct ad delivery pace, analyze performance metrics, and report findings to partners
  • Optimize our ad operations:
    • Set auction and waterfall logic to manage the balance between programmatic and direct ad placements effectively
    • Create and maintain audience cohorts to enhance ad targeting and performance
    • Define acceptable specifications and technical standards for direct ads (e.g. upload specs, VAST tags)
    • Set and optimize ad load delivery to control exposure frequency
  • Support a high-quality ad experience for our users:
    • Test ad creatives across devices, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal UX
    • Manage ad blocking, monitor reports of bad ads, and ensure a high-quality ad experience
  • Develop documentation for execution of all direct ad types
  • Provide ongoing support to our Ads team

You Have...

  • At least 4 years experience in ad operations, including working directly with buyers
  • Strong proficiency in Google Ad Manager
  • Experience with various direct ad formats, including private auctions, preferred deals, and programmatic guaranteed deals
  • Results-driven mentality
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and technical understanding of ad testing
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work 10-20 hours/week (workload may vary from week to week)
